As a college preparatory high school with an emphasis on the arts, The
Griffin School requires all students to take a rigorous course of study
that includes Latin, fine arts, volunteer community service,
SAT preparation, and a senior thesis project. Our basic required
curriculum roughly parallels the "Recommended High School Program" as
defined by the Texas Education Agency for public school graduation.
Upper level coursework is offered and encouraged for students in various
disciplines. In addition, eligible Griffin School upperclassmen are
encouraged to take college-level coursework at the Austin Community
College as a part of its free Early College Start Program to earn
college credits while still in high school. For a detailed list of
required coursework, download our graduation requirements form.
