The Essential Values We take responsibility for our actions and our education. We commit to active involvement in The Griffin School community. We treat one another with respect and tolerance. We honor one another's right to learn and teach. We communicate openly and honestly. We recognize that The Griffin School community is maintained by taking these values seriously. About The Essential Values The list of Essential Value statements expresses the values that are essential for the successful operation of The Griffin School community. The Essential Value statements were created through a yearlong collaborative process in which students, parents and teachers participated and came to consensus about the values statements. At the beginning of each new school year, each student and teacher signs a contract which states their affirmation of the Essential Values and pledges to embody them to the best of their ability. This contract forms the agreement between students, teachers and the school to uphold these values. The Essential Values are utilized throughout the school year as a reminder of this commitment.
